A quick look at the news these days can be disheartening. The headlines are filled with reports of extreme weather storms, an unstable economic market, politicians making allegations against one another, and pandemic viruses which threaten the health of many.
It would be easy to lose hope if it were not for the Lord. A reading in a Lent devotional brings this encouragement:
“where can I go to find peace
comfort, joy?
all that nourishes, sustains
is hidden in You.I cannot comprehend
explain, imagine
any power wider, deeper
stronger than Your love
You and You and You alone
three but One
perfect in unitywhat is the colour of holiness?
what is the sound of truth?
what is the taste of glory?
You and You and You alone
together(From Ashes to Glory, by Karin Fendick)
We find refuge and peace in God during difficult times as we turn to God, remembering He is our ever present help.
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.†(Psalm 46:1, NKJV)
I hope you will join me at Woman to Woman Ministries Here where we’ll look at maintaining our peace and stability in uncertain times.
Today I am joining …
Great timing on this post, Joanne! There’s so much anxiety in the air right now.
Thank you, Michele. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of our ever present Help!
I’ve cut down on my anxiety by refusing to watch the news ;). I also know that God is in control–many times I don’t like what happens, but I remind myself I AM NOT IN CHARGE. That helps a lot.
