Ever notice how we long to see beauty?
As the spring is coming upon us, I watch for signs the winter is over. As I keep a close watch on our yard, beauty can be found little by little as winter fades and spring begins to unfold:
The little sprouts of green grass.
Bunnies running and hopping around.
The return of robins as they poke for worms and begin to construct their nests.
The chirping of birds as they make their return.
The reddish hue of buds on our maple trees.
It’s as if the earth has come alive, and it has, all under the careful care of our God.
“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”
(Psalm 19:1, NASB)
Beauty has been defined as “the quality or group of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or the mind” (merriamwebster.com).
And that is just it, a glimpse of beauty, whether seen by the eyes or breathed in as an aroma, brings pleasure to our souls. We need beauty every now and then. Beauty experienced by any of our senses brings a reminder of our Creator.
Join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE and let’s look at our need for beauty.
