Most Fridays, I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is: Coffee.

Coffee.

My go-to, must-have drink in the morning. It brews automatically and is waiting for my appearance in the kitchen.

Coffee and Jesus. Not just a saying but a reality in my life. Not sure when, but I do know it was during my years of parenting the combination of both in the early mornings became a necessity.

Everyone groans about the time change. Honestly, it is my most favorite time of year.

Coffee, Jesus, and the darkness brings a specialness all its own. These morning breathe glimmers of hope, hope in what is yet to come.

“Your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.”
(Isaiah 58:8, NLT)

It is in the dark night of our situations that He shines His light. We need not live in darkness any longer. He brings light. He brings hope into our situations. He is the light of the world. The light to each of us.

He is before us and behind us. He hems us in. Dawn comes after the darkness and dispels it. It occurs each morning.

Coffee.
Jesus.
Hope.
