There are days in which familiar words fall as if they had never been read before. It was like that recently as I read from 1 Peter.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3, NASB)
We know that our living hope, or any hope at all, is found in and through Jesus. Peter reminds us that our hope is a confident expectation of what God will do. He goes further to make us realize that hope is fully dependent on God’s grace.
“Hope did not die on the cross – it was the cross that brought forth an unshakable hope.”
(from Grace in the Wilderness, by The Daily Grace Co., page 15)
Our hope, our inheritance:
- can never be destroyed
- nothing can defile it
- it will never fade
Our hope is past, present, and secured for our future. We have been given such a blessing in having already received our inheritance while we wait to inherit it fully! Amen?
Peter reminds us of our living hope. But the question we need to carefully consider is this one – How can we live a life that overflows with that kind of hope?
I hope you will join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE and let’s discuss how we can have this kind of hope.
