A few months ago, I read a quote from a most familiar character in my life. In our house, we read his stories and watched his program on television. We were probably more interested in his jumping friend, Tigger, than we were in the words spoken between Winnie and his friends. But now as an adult, I find myself appreciating these words shared between two friends ….

See what I mean? How good are those words!!!!
In the last two months since reading those words, I have gone back countless times to remind myself of those very words. I have shared them with others who also felt their impact. Let’s think on this for a minute as we remember similar words spoken to us:
- You are braver than you believe. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV). There is One living in us, who makes us braver than we can ever believe we are.
- You are stronger than you seem. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10, NIV). It is as He infuses His strength into our weak bodies that we become stronger and able to stand against all odds.
- You are smarter than you think. “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26, NIV). The Holy Spirit teaches us and guides us even in areas we are not knowledgeable. He brings back to our memory those things we have heard and learned as they are needed.
And then comes the most important part ….
Our Lord will never leave us! Not ever!
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV)
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b, NIV)
“If ever there is ever a tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember:
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.ÂÂ
But the most important part, even if we’re apart, I’ll always be with you.ÂÂ
I’ll always be with you.”ÂÂ(as spoken by Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh)
And these words are spoken by our God to us today.
Today I am joining … Three Word Wednesday and Tell His Story and Coffee & Conversation and Wedded Wed. and Works For Me and A Little R & R .
I’ve always adored those words from Christopher Robin. I love how you broke them down with supporting scripture. What a brand new, beautiful way to look at them. Thanks for the sweet video that made me smile this morning!
Candace, I think every now & then we all need to be reminded that our God dwells in us & makes us more than we ever thought we could be. I am grateful the video made you smile. May we walk in all that He has for us in 2015 – bravely, strongly & smartly. Blessings!
What a sweet discovery! Thanks for sharing this and linking up for #ThreeWordWednesday.
Thank you, Kristin. It has so spoken into my heart the last few weeks. Always wonderful to join you!
You know who else has a ton of wisdom? Dr. Seuss – “A person’s a person no matter how small.” Seuss & Pooh had it right!
I LOVE Dr. Seuss!!! It is no wonder we read both to our children!
Absolutely beautiful and a much needed reminder! Thank you!
It has so sweetly spoken to me over the last few weeks. Glad you liked it too 🙂 Blessings to you & yours, Elizabeth!
What a wonderful reminder for me today. And this will take on a whole new meaning with the scripture you’ve put behind it. I’m going to use this as a teaching point for my little ones at home. Thank you for sharing!
So glad that it spoke to you, Jennifer. And how wonderful to use it with your children. May God seal these truths into their hearts & minds!
I’m so glad you tied those words of Christopher Robin back to scripture, knowing our Lord is the only One who can truly remain with us always–empowering us when we feel weak. I see many couples/wives (in my line of work) who try to make their spouse the person who “never leaves them emotionally” and props them up when they are weak. Although that is what friends are for, very often that expectation gets us in trouble. I know you know that, sweet Joanne. But there are so many who don’t, so I’m so very glad you’re pointing them to Christ! Happy New Year, my friend!
No person can ever be all to us. Truly. Only our Lord. Blessings to you, Beth!
How Beautiful… and timely for me to hear this… ♥ Prayers for my mama please : ) Thanks for sharing such truth– it can really be found in everything can’t it?! Even Winnie the Pooh ♥ Thank you thank you thank you.
Heather, grateful this was timely for you. Please know I have & will pray for you mama. So grateful our Lord is fully aware of the need & responds to our prayers. “God is our refuge and our strength; an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) Know, know that He is ever-present, in each moment to help. Blessings!
I love Winnie! Beautifully written. A new way to look at that portion from the story. Blessings friend!
Carmen, it is amazing how a children’s story can speak so powerfully. He knows what we need to get it to stick with us!
What a great pairing of good literature and God-inspired truth! A wonderfully-written post!
Thank you so much, Asheritah. He knew exactly how to get these truths into my heart!
“He is ever-present” – Praise the Lord for these encouraging words which sustain us, especially when our world becomes topsy-turvy. ” “He is ever-present” – when our hearts are crushed. “He is ever-present” – when we are “unsettled” during confusing circumstances. “He is ever-present” – when we have been misunderstood. He is ever-present” – during all the complexities of life. “Ever-present”: I fell asleep last night with these words in my heart and mind. I bless the Lord, Jo, for the spiritual insight He has given you. Thank you, my dear friend and sister in the Lord! I trust you will be “ever-present” in my life also. Much <3!
Angela, I hope the same about you. I have been reminding myself each day of our Lord who is ever-present in every situation! Love you!
Oh what amazing words for me sweet friend; thanks for sharing! I will copy this >>> “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”, and refer back to it often this brand New Year!! Deuteronomy 31:6 is definitely a verse that is planted in my heart this year!
Sweet blessings and love Joanne! ♥
Denise, I am so grateful it spoke into your heart too. May those words Christopher Robin keep us brave all year in & through Christ! Blessings!
