Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Persist.

Persist is defined as “to continue steadfastly or firmly in some state, purpose, course of action” (from dictionary.com).

We pray each day for needs and concerns for ourselves and others. The answer does not always come quickly; and so, we persist. We continue to come before God verbalizing situations and and people in need of Him.

We persist in prayer …

“Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer.” (Romans 12:12, NASB)

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 6:18, NASB)

The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” (James 5:16b, NASB)

“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NASB)

“The longer I go on, the more I find that prayer and faith can overcome every difficulty.” (George Mueller)

“Prayer is the greatest of all forces, because it honours God and brings Him into active aid.” (E.M. Bounds)

“Four things let us ever keep in mind: God hears prayer, God heeds prayer, God answers prayer, and God delivers by prayer.” (E.M. Bounds)

May we persist in prayer.
