What immediately comes to mind is….After all is said & done.
Is that not when it all counts?
After it is all said & done…..
- did I give it my all?
- did I try my best?
- did I love hard?
- did I forgive?
- did I do all that I knew to do?
- did I love Him with all my heart, with all my mind & all my soul?
It is the after that makes the now all worth it.
I read this quote by Erma Bombeck this morning,
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything You gave me.”
Because after this life is gone, that is all that will truly matter.
I participated in Five Minute Friday .
Very well said.
thanks for sharing your thoughts. It is good to ponder on the after. 🙂
LOVE that quote! great write this Friday!
Thanks so much for stopping by & leaving a comment.
I loved your line, “It is the AFTER that makes the NOW worth it”. Going through personal hell right now, and this really encouraged me. Thanks for linking up to FMF.
I am so sorry for the difficulty that you are going through. I could not help but think of when Paul wrote that are troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs all we go through here. Keep your eyes fixed on Him & may He bring you all the strength that you need. Blessings!
Do I give Him my all everyday ? I would like to say I do but I know there are still bits and pieces that I hold on to. That I still think I can handle on my own. Thanks for the encouragement
That Erma Bombeck quote is gold, pure gold!!! Great post!
I’m late to the party on this one, but this was an awesome thought! That quote was really good too! 🙂
Never too late! Thanks for leaving a comment. Erma Bombeck always had something good to say 🙂
