About a year ago, I heard about The Lulu Tree and little by little, I felt drawn to partner with them in ministry.
They are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preventing tomorrow’s orphans by equipping today’s mothers. There are an estimated 153 million orphans in our world today. The Lulu Tree addresses this issue at its roots: by helping mothers hold onto their babies. Lulu partners with pregnant teens, single mothers, widows and orphaned daughters who desire to rise above their circumstances and fight poverty on behalf of the next generation.
I recently read this quote by Martin Luther King Jr:
“Any religion that professes to be concerned with the souls of men and is not concerned with the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them, and the social conditions that cripple them, is a dry-as-dust religion.” (from the Key Word Commentary: Thoughts on Every Chapter of the Bible, page 890)
May this video bless you …

“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6: 8, NIV, 1984)
Many of these women, upon becoming believers in Christ, have been abandoned by their husbands. They have been left without any means of providing for themselves or their children.
We would be every so humbled and honored to have you partner with us. Won’t you stop by the website and consider making a difference in the lives of these precious Mamas and their children?
Today I am joining … Thought Provoking Thursday and Look Up and Everyday Jesus and Blessing Counters .
What a great post! The MLK Jr. quote reminds me of some words from Amy Carmichael. Someone had sent a donation to Dohnavuhr with the stipulation that it be used for “spiritual ministry.” She sent it back — along with a note saying that in her experience, souls were more or less firmly fixed to bodies and it was the children’s bodies that needed care before she could deal with their souls.
Love the quote, Michele. Thank you for sharing it with me!
Beautiful cause, Joanne! Thank you so much for sharing it… I learn something new everyday (esp when I visit your blog.)
Sharita, I am so glad you learned about The Lulu Tree today. I hope you will stop by the website & continue to learn about this wonderful ministry. Always good to join you. Blessings!
