Five-Minute-Friday-4-300x300Iā€™m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.

Todayā€™s prompt is ā€¦. Weary.

Weary. Just the word can make one feel tired. The days are long, the work hard, and our bodies just long to rest.

Weary … “physically or mentally exhausted by hard work, exertion, strain, etc.; fatigued; tired” (dictionary.com).

Weary is when we just don’t have the strength to do another single thing.

But I am reminded of the One who is always at work, never ceases:

“Have you not heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary.” (Isaiah 40:28, NLT)

God’s power to administer the affairs of thousands of stars in the heavens and the millions of people on the earth never brings fatigue or weakens him because of exhaustion. Therefore, he is never worn out by a large task and nothing is too complex for him to figure out. God’s wisdom is unlimited and totally beyond human comprehension; therefore, there are no loose ends or uncontrollable circumstances of fate that overtax God’s ability to keep track of them. (New American Commentary, Vol. 15b, pg. 121)

No matter how weary I get …
Our God?
He can’t be overtaxed or overworked.
He never, ever grows weary.
