There are times that life will be so challenging or difficult or overwhelming or uncertain or uncomfortable. Those times will shake us to our core. They can become times when our faith is in crisis.
Yet at those very times, it is faith alone that will keep us going. Ever notice that?
Everything inside of you is yelling that it is hopeless, just give up. What’s the use?
And faith yells louder, “Keep going.” “Trust Me.” “I know what I am about.”
- Are we going to believe what our eyes and intellect are telling us? Or….
- Are we going to believe and trust Him?
Some days our circumstances will seem huge and powerful over our lives. It is those days that we are going to need to make a choice. When that choice is before us may we hold onto this:
The word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything He does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth. (Psalm 33: 4-5, NLT)
We can trust Him because ~~ He holds true.
The word ‘true’ is used in a way that denotes the very character of God. It is something He must be for it is His very essence. He is true. All His ways are perfect. Notice that it says, “we can trust everything He does.” Not some things. Everything. We can trust the good, the bad, the painful, the difficult. We can trust everything He does.
Corrie ten Boom once said it this way: “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
We can trust Him because He sees what our eyes cannot yet see.
We can trust Him because He knows the beginning from the end.
We can trust Him because He knows what He is working in our lives.
We can trust Him because He is faithful to His own.
We can trust Him because He is just.
We can trust Him because He always does what is right.
We can trust Him because….
He Holds True.ÂÂ

Yes! And Amen! He holds true. What a perfect thing for me to read first thing this morning. That no matter what happens today, I can trust Him. Love the Corrie Ten Boom quote, and I will be highlighting that verse in my Bible:) Your post is my prayer today- that I can trust Him in everything:) So glad to visit from Three Word Wednesday:) God bless your day!
Lauren – So glad you found encouragement in my post. And I am glad you visited as I visited you back & am glad to have found a new friend!
Blessings,
Joanne
He is faithful, even when I have not been. I learned to trust Him during a most difficult time, and like you said above, “we can trust Him because He holds true.” I like you quote by Corrie ten Boom, as well – I love those voices of experience who speak to us from the places of deepest darkness and share with us that no pit is too deep or too dark for the Light of God to come bursting in!
How very true that He remains faithful to us even when we have not been faithful. Thank you for visiting & for sharing. I appreciate it!
This encouraged me so much right now. Needed these words.
Grateful to Him that they did. Grateful to you for letting me know 🙂 He truly does hold onto us even tighter than we hold onto Him!
Such an encouraging post, Joanne! You know those words really ministered to me as I face uncertainty and pain in my new diagnosis. But I can trust Him, can’t I? He really has been so good to me and it’s as if I feel Him pouring His peace into my heart and whispering His love to me through posts like yours, my friend! Thanks so much!
So grateful that the post brought you peace & assurance. May He continue to be with you & bring you healing.
Joanne, I am loving your 3-word Wednesday posts. This was another winner. Wow! I was so encouraged by this.
