I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today’s word is ….
We have such a desire to know the reason for things …
I want to get married because ….
I want to take that trip because …
It would be so good to sit in a tub of hot water because …
It is your fault because ….
But there have been days when circumstances happen, life unravels, and there is no because. We don’t know the reason or the cause. Nothing makes much sense. Or adds up. Life just happens.
So we keep praying. Keep hoping. Keep reading Scriptures in the hopes of finding the because. The reason for it all.
And it falls into place, ever so slightly at first. The holy because …
But I will trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.
(Psalm 13: 5-6, NLT)
The holy because. Because He rescues us from ourselves. From others. From disappointments. From hurts.
The holy because. Because He is good to us.
Because we trusted the Lord, He fills us with joy.
The holy because.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Everyday Jesus and Friendship Fri. and Faith Filled Fri. and Fellowship Fri. and Essential Fri. and Faith & Fellowship and Blessing Counters .
In My Thoughts,
Joanne
Oh, I love this! The “holy because”… I especially love it because I wrote how many of us use “because” to start an excuse. But with God, it’s a purpose.
So very true that we use it to explain an excuse. Great observation! So glad you stopped & shared!
I love those little Bible words – you show here how ‘because’ is followed by God’s promises he not only loves us and protects us but he tells us why so we can be in no doubt. What a great encouragement today – glad I found you on Essential Devotions 🙂
I’m so glad you stopped & shared that He tells us so that there will be no doubt. He truly does so much to help us to take Him at His Word.
How beautiful! “The holy because’….oh, my that speaks so deeply to my heart. His ‘because’ is always right, always good, and always exactly what we need. I’m so glad I’m your neighbor at #FMFparty. So glad I stopped by!
Leah, the holy because is always exactly what we need. I have so enjoyed sharing with you today – both here & on your blog. Have a wonderful weekend!
Yes, we trust Him just BECAUSE sometimes. Because He is good. Because He is trustworthy.
Betsy, the way your comment is worded brought to mind how many times, as a mom, I have said, “because I said so” to my children. Now may I learn to trust Him just because He said so 🙂 So glad you stopped here today!
And as Chris Rice sings, “I’m saving up questions for heaven” –of course, there it might not matter and we will forget what we so wanted to ask.
Anita, you are so right…there it may not matter & even if we remember to ask, I think we will say, “it was all worth it!”
Beautiful Joanne! We can trust because He is trustworthy! Now and forever. Enjoy a blessing-filled weekend.
Thanks, Deb. May you enjoy the weekend as well!
Wonderful post. We always focus on the because questions we do not understand. Why is not always for us to know but He is in control.
Yes. There are many questions we will not get answers for. We must trust Him because of Who He is. Grateful you stopped here!
My whole self is tingling right now with the thought of The Holy Because. I stinking LOVE IT. And won’t be forgetting it any time soon. You have such a creative mind, Joanne. Thanks for sharing it today!
Sharita, I am glad that it spoke to you. I just love doing the FMF because it is amazing how one word can cause an entire thought. So glad to join you too each week!
This is a beautiful reminder. Yes because he is good! I find myself saying this SO MUCH these days! An audible reminder when I feel my gaze slipping from His face onto present circumstances. “Because HE IS GOOD! I can trust Him!” Thank you!
Yes, because He is good & ALL He does is good! May I remind myself of that part as well.
The “holy because.” I like that. I like that a lot. Will be pondering this!
Grateful you stopped here & found something to ponder. It is amazing how one word can take us all in such different directions. Blessings!
Amen! We don’t always have the answers but we know Someone who does! Thanks for linking up with the Faith and Fellowship blog hop! 🙂
It’s been great to join you!
