There was a photo of a beautiful flower on Facebook and she asked, “Does anyone know what this is?”

I replied, “A columbine flower.”

Seemed harmless enough until I then was tagged to do a seven day photo challenge to find beauty out of my door. Now I will be honest, my first instinct was not to participate. But then, I thought perhaps it will be fun so I joined in.

I took my first photo, tagged the initial friend and then challenged another.

Within seconds, the text came on my phone, “I am not doing it! I don’t like those things.” We shot back and forth a bit about it as I tried to get her to join in and said, “It’s a good way to notice God each day.” No response.

I continued on participating and posting my photos each day …

There were days I began to notice more beauty and could have posted several photos. I began to realize that the more I took note of God, the more He showed up!

5, 6, 7

Early one morning, I was on the phone with the “rebellious photographer” as she drove to work. It was a dark and rainy morning, the rain coming down fast and furious. In the midst of the downpour, the sun began to shine and I said, “Be on the lookout. It is a fine morning and has all the makings of a rainbow appearance!”

She laughed at me and made a comment at how I always look on the good side of things. What can I say? I try.

A few minutes later, my phone dinged and there was the photo …

God continually will seek out His own to remind them of His Presence with them. Even on those days, when we would seek to avoid Him, He astounds us with His wonders. His love for us is immeasurable, undeserved, and faithful. Always drawing us close to His side.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. (Psalm 19:1-4, NLT)

Where will you notice Him today?
