Friday means looking at the word prompt and joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Many of us writing on that same word.
Today’s prompt is … Team.
I saw the prompt in my twitter feed before heading to bed and had thought I would not participate. Amazing how one word can weave its way into one’s heart and mind.
“Team” as defined by dictionary.com is > “a number of persons associated in some joint action“.
Reading the definition made me realize that the joint action can be an action of any sort. Certainly, being in the second week of the Summer Olympics, we have seen teams splayed before our eyes every day for the last two weeks. But this sort of team was not what came to my mind this morning.
The team I want behind me is a team of those who will pray for one another, lifting up the burdens of the other before God when perhaps one is unable to do so.
There is such a comfort and overwhelming peace which floods my being as I participate with my team. It is not a competition but a joint action seeking one outcome – God’s will be done.
As we pray in agreement with and for one another, there is a greater awareness which begins to rise up that recognizes the Source of all and any help we may receive –
“I look up to the mountains – does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!”
(Psalm 121:1-2, NLT)
A team of many.
Reminding us of The One.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Grace & Truth and Faith ‘N Friends and #FreshMarketFriday .
I like that kind of team. Happy Friday, friend!
You are forming that very sort! Have a great weekend!
A team of many, reminding us of the One. Love that!! Thanks for the reminder today that we are all on HIS team and should be working and striving together in unity and love ♥
Unity and love, together in His Name, will accomplish more than us alone – every time!
Joanne, for me you defined Five Minute Friday, the team that keeps me going, week to week.

And accomplishes much for His glory! Blessings to you, Ifeoma!
When we pray together it makes us so much more powerful. I love being apart of a team like that. Your neighbor at fmf
We are strengthened every time when we are part of a praying team. Glad you stopped here. Have a wonderful weekend!
So good! I’m thankful to be on this team with you and so many other encouraging writers!
I love this part…It is not a competition but a joint action seeking one outcome ”“ God’s will be done. And I think we get it so wrong sometimes when we let our ego push to the front. Glad you did write on this friend!
