“For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” (Hebrews 12:3, NKJV)
… We knew that we would be striving against sin. We didn’t realize the many small frustrations in our daily lives that would be a part of that struggle. All the small frustrations lumped together made it challenging.
Our circumstances were not perfect, but we made a choice that day not to look at them. We had to look at Jesus. When considering Jesus, our daily frustrations became smaller.
When I look at Jesus, anything seems a small thing to do without.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, forgive me when I allow frustration to cause me to sin. May I look to the example of Your Son, who suffered, knowing that my suffering is nothing in comparison. Give us grace to to go through our day. Amen.

Our pastor just spoke on this passage! Considering Jesus and His sufferings should be a game changer for me whenever I become discouraged.
Thanks, Joanne.
My frustrations are so much louder that my thanks some days. Why is it so much easier to spot the hard stuff that the good? My prayer for today is that the frustrations point me TO God instead of AWAY from Him. (Like in an hour when I’m trying to rush all three kids out the door to get to church and somebody’s lost a shoe and somebody else refuses to eat breakfast and the dog still hasn’t been let out).
It’s so true that we often allow frustration to cause us to sin – especially to say things we shouldn’t say. Our frustrations, our nothing in comparison to what Jesus endured and suffered. Yes, let us “consider Jesus!”
I should have proofread that post. It should have said:
Our frustrations are nothing in comparison to what Jesus endured and suffered.
This is such a great reminder. There are times that I forget that but when I do picture Jesus and what he went through, it does help see the frustration in a different light. So glad you shared this blessing.

This is so simple, but powerful! Keeping my focus on Jesus keeps this life and its many trials, tests and irritations in perspective.
Thank you so much for this encouragement – deep encouragement because that “Consider Jesus” reaches very deep.
It’s strange but true that our little everyday frustrations cause us more trouble than we realize! But oh how all of our frustrations, big and small, shrink when we focus on our Saviour!
