As a Mimi to two granddaughters and with one on the way, I am always on the lookout for children’s books for them. I am delighted to share about two books I recently was given the opportunity to review.

Both are by the same author – Wendy Dunham, and the series is called Tales of Buttercup Grove. The illustrations have been beautifully done by Michal Sparks. The series will tell the adventure of a group of friends as they experience the seasons together. The whimsical stories are meant for early readers (ages 4-7) and are beautifully written and illustrated.

A Windy Spring Day is the story of skunk, who is home alone and frightened by the strong winds. The friends come together to help skunk overcome his fears by engaging in a fun activity as a group. This story reinforces the concepts of friendship and learning from one another. The story ends with a Scripture, Psalm 56:3, to remind young listeners to place their trust in God whenever they are fearful.

Sunflower Summer is the sweet story of friends coming together, working hard in cooperation with one another, and patiently waiting to see the results of their efforts. This story ends with the Scripture Romans 8:25, teaching young readers to wait patiently and confidently on God.

These books are the first in the series. The characters will quickly endear themselves to every young reader. They become familiar and comforting as their bond with each other is supportive, kind and encouraging. The value of friendship will be quickly recognized.

Children will want to read more of the tales of this sweet and whimsical group of friends. The next two books in the series will be released August 7, 2018 and you will be able to add these to the series.

**I received both of these books in pdf form from the publisher in exchange for my honest review which has been my pleasure to give. Both of these books were a pleasure to read.
