Today begins a new study with Hello Mornings -  Power of the Word. This is the third part in the study of the book of Acts. By the time the study is completed, we would have studied the entire book of Acts.

We will have read about the early church, the struggles and the joys they faced. We will have uncovered the way in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ spread from their small area to the entire world, and down through the ages.

As I sat thinking on this, one verse came to mind. They are the words of Jesus and in red in my Bible.

“I will tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and eve greater works, because I am going to be with the Father” (John 14:12, NLT).

Just that one simple verse hit like a ton of bricks, delivering one thought in particular:

We are here to do a great work.
We are it.
This is our time.

Much the way the disciples were the ones to spread the message in their time, we are to spread the message in our time.

There is a work God has for each and every one of to do. May we not sit by idly, but ask Him to show us each day what it is He has for us to do.

And before any of us think we have no gift, no calling, and we are incapable to do anything, recently my “Kingdom” work was five loads of laundry and making our bed so my husband could sleep comfortably. Kingdom work even meant my going to Wal-Mart!

Yes, laundry – each load – Kingdom work. Making a bed. Going to Wal-Mart.

May all we do be done unto the Lord:

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ(Colossians 3:23-24, NLT).

This study will bring new insights. We’ll discover what God has for us as we finish this trip with our friends, the disciples, in Acts!
