“Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.” (Proverbs 15:16, NLT)
“If we all could choose between a simple life or one rich with treasure, who wouldn’t choose the latter?
Except money doesn’t buy happiness. As Jonathan Swift said, “A wise man should have money in his head, but not in his heart.”
The fear of the Lord – It’s your life blood as a Christian, pumping from your new heart throughout your body. It activates the mind of Christ in you and moves your hands and feet as a member of Christ’s body. The Holy Spirit serves as the generator, replacing the headaches of the old life with simple trust and fear of the Lord.
Prayer: Righteous God, You are all I need, whatever the balance in my bank account. Let me live in Your shadow, my fear of You making me unafraid of anything else.”

Today I am joining … Spiritual Sundays and Scripture & a Snapshot and Selah .
To have “money in the head, but not in the heart” is very good wisdom, indeed! Who could buy a beautiful sunset, the brilliant red leaves on a sugar maple, the enthusiastic hugs of a grandchild, or God’s love?
Oh I love this. It explains it perfectly.
This was timely for me, because earlier this evening I was crunching our numbers which is not my favorite pastime. Thankful for God’s provision, and praying for wisdom and contentment.
