At some point in life, we all experience a time in the “wilderness”. These are days spent going through difficulties or discomfort.
King David fully knew the emotions as he found himself alone in the desert and hiding from his enemies. There was much he lacked in the wilderness … he had no company, no water, and no relief from the heat or conditions.Â
“O God, You are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.”
(Psalm 63: 1, NLT)
There in the desert, while his physical needs were shouting to be satisfied, David discovered his greater need was for God.Â
In that moment, David made two choices:
- He chose to adjust his focus.
- He chose to sing praises to his God instead of complain.
I hope you will join me at W2W Ministries as I share about these two choices and the impact they had on David and can have on each of us.

This is a great post, Joanne! it’s a good reminder that our praise is powerful and that we always have a choice about where we focus.
Every day the choice is ours. May I choose wisely today. Blessings!
