There are benefits to maintaining a daily walk with God.

We need to spend time with God each day. This will require discipline and effort on our part, but there is much to be gained from being consistent.

Strength and Deliverance

On those days when we may think we will not have enough strength or energy to get through the demands of the day, He infuses us with all we need.

“Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.“  (Isaiah 33:2, NIV)

When life seems to be in chaos and situations are in flux, He is the One who remains faithful bringing stability and security.

”He will be the sure foundation for your times …” (Isaiah 33:6a).

Wisdom and Knowledge

God not only brings us encouragement, He brings us wisdom and knowledge. He enables us to understand and navigate situations beyond our abilities.

“… a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge …” (Isaiah 33:6a, NIV).

Each of these benefits are needed in our lives each and every day. They are received by us as we consistently spend time in God’s Word.

“This verse shows how utterly dependent people are on God’s gracious work in their hearts, his illumination for understanding, and his empowerment for service.”

(from The New American Commentary, Gary V. Smith, Vol. 15A, page 554

Our relationship with God, and all that is gained, is “a treasure”.

“… the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” (Isaiah 33:6b, NIV)

May we cherish, esteem, and hold onto Him,
for He alone is the key to all other treasures in this life.
