Josiah was the last of Judah’s righteous kings. His desire was for  God’s people to return their roots, their roots founded in God’s law. His hope was for the people to return to the faith they once had possessed; and for them to pass it to the next generation.

This desire was ignited with a renewed fervency when Josiah discovered God’s law in the temple:

“Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists,  the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.” (2 Kings 23:24, NIV)

This desire stemmed from the discovery of God’s law in the temple and the effect it had on Josiah:

“Neither before not after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did ”“ with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.” (verse 25, NIV)

The discovery of God’s Word had three effects on Josiah and will result in the same for us, if we let His Word do its work in us.

I hope you will join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE as we look at the impact discovery of God’s Word can have on our lives.
