This week Hello Mornings will begin a new study – Faithful Household of God. It will be exciting to jump into this one, as we so need to learn how to be faithful as the Church in these changing times we are living.
“If I am detained, you may know how people ought to conduct themselves in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and stay (the prop and support) of the Truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15, AMP)
We are the “household of God” – the Church. We’re representing God to the world and they are watching.
The Amplified version adds that we are “the prop and support” of the Truth. If we are going to do and be what we are called to do, we must know the Truth.
- live our lives aligned to the truth – God’s Truth.
- we must live in obedience to His Word, even when it goes against the norm in society.
- our behavior must look different in contrast with society.
- we must live in a right and faith-filled way.
To do this, we must grow in His Word so that we KNOW it and are APPLYING it to our lives. Let’s allow Him to shape our thinking, our behavior, and our lives so that we bring Him glory and honor in the days ahead!

What an excellent time to be thinking about the nature and role of the chuch with our culture in so much turmoil. Paul’s wisdom shared with two young pastors has got to be a great beginning for some really excellent conversations.
Joanne, good words here. We should be thinking about the role of the church, especially in this time in our collective history. And, thank you for the reminders of how to live as a representative of the church, and especially as a representative of Jesus. Great thoughts!
I love this! And this is a great time for such a study. We’re still the church, though our routines have been upended the last few months.
