For the last week, I have had a woman and her story weaving her way through my thoughts. She’d been ill for twelve years. Suffering with a constant bleeding. As if that were not enough, she had suffered from the hands of many doctors who tried to help her to no avail. Over the years, they took all her money, leaving her penniless, and worse than before.

She had heard the stories of a man who could heal people with a word, or sometimes a touch. So when she heard He was near, she made her way to Him. Pressing her way through the crowd, she thought, rather than bothering Him, she would just touch His robe herself and see what would occur.

Straining to make contact, she touched His robe, and immediately, the bleeding stopped. She knew it herself, as she could feel it in her body, that she had been healed of the terrible condition which had plagued her for all those many years.

Twelve long years. Waiting. Searching. And no better. I cannot even imagine.

She had sought answers and remedies for the entire course of time. She never gave up, which really means – she always held onto hope.

Hope that one day the answer would come.

And it did! Or rather He did come!

May we be like her, never giving up. Always holding onto hope. Reaching out to Jesus and praying for an answer.

“And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.” (Mark 5:34, NLT)

Today may be the day He brings relief, healing, or a job. The prodigal may come home, a restoration take place, or salvation.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9, NLT)
