Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Trust.

Trust is defined as “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing” (dictionary.com).

The word brings to mind the time when a vast army came against God’s people. Scripture tells us it was an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots (2 Chronicles 14:9). King Asa deploys his armies and then does exactly what I would have done … he cried. Only difference is he cried out to God.

Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You.”
(2 Chronicles 14:11, NASB)

There are times we can so identify with Asa and realize, we are completely powerless. There is not a single thing we can do to change or remedy the situation.

It is at those times, we throw ourselves into the hands of the only One,
Who is mighty to save.
And we trust Him.
