One thought went through my head, “I am going to try better tomorrow.”
Even as I was drifting off to sleep, I was aware of the word, “try”, weaving its way into my thoughts. I tried hard to stop my thoughts but I knew, “try” was going to still be present in the morning.
The early morning hours found me in the usual routine of reading and coffee. My mind was trying to move on in thought but the word kept on pulling me back. Try …
“…but always try to do good to each other and to all people.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:15, NLT)
The words splayed out before me right on the page ”“ “try to do good”. The dictionary defines the word “try” as to attempt or endeavor to do something.
It has to mean even more than what meets the eye. I try to lose weight. I try to keep up with the ironing. Those are trivial things. This, “try to do good”, must mean more.
Won’t you join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE as we look more deeply at what it means to “try to do good.”

Today I am joining …
Joanne, I often find myself with the word try on my mind. I’ll try to do good or I’ll try better tomorrow. I’ll try better God. What I love about God is how he meets us right where we are, and he wants us to knock on his door at midnight and come in.
Visiting today from IMM #23
Paula, it’s interesting how that word, “try”, comes around in the still of the night. But God meets us right there to assure us He will help us do better as we rely on Him.
Amen indeed.
Thank you for linking up with Sweet Tea & Friends this month.
God promises to meet.us in the trying and in the trusting, but I am convinced that Jesus is the only one who truly “tried” with success, mastering obedience and rejecting sin.
