For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NASB)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.(Romans 5:8, NASB)

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.” (1 John 4:9, NASB)

“What sacrificial love You have shown us through the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ …

We pray, Lord, that You would bring us to a sobering recognition of the gift You have given us through salvation in Jesus Christ. Through repentance and faith in Him, You have given us Your love for eternity. We pray Your love would change us and shape us into the likeness of Jesus Christ. We pray it would humble us and cultivate kindness and generosity toward others. Lord, help us to think of tangible ways to show Your love to others this season.

We pray You would continue to fill our hearts and minds with the truth of Your astounding love for us, and may it bring purpose and intention to this holiday season.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
