Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Season.

It has been a delightfully warmer fall. It almost felt like summer was hanging around just to prove the seasons would not be dictated by the dates on the calendar.

The leaves stayed green, and our potted flowers bloomed more plentifully than they did all summer.

Then just like that, the switch was flipped and the cold air rushed in. The sound of the heat coming up can be heard as the water begins to move through the baseboards.

The seasons do change.

With the changing of the month, our focus shifts. We not only notice the change in the season, we remember it is the season of thanksgiving.

Earlier this week, I read a quote:

“When joy and prayer are married, their first born child is gratitude.”
(Charles Spurgeon)

While this season is marked with gratitude, every season should also be filled with the same. In every season, whether challenging or not, should be a season of joy and prayer. Then our lives will give birth to gratitude.

Gratitude in every season of life.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
(Psalm 136:1, NASB)
