Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.” (Luke 5:5, NASB)

“There are times when the efforts expended in the work of the Lord warrant our looking for certain results, but to our dismay they do not appear. “Why this vain toil?” we ask ourselves …

 

“But at thy word I will let down the nets”: this is the kind of faith that avails in His service. It trusts Him to bless us beyond all our deserts. Provided our expectation is in Him alone, I believe we shall see blessing on all our future way. The favour of the Lord resting on one life may mean the salvation of fifty lives; it may mean the consecration to Him of a hundred lives. God’s blessing has momentous results. Let us expect the supernatural. Let us look to God for miracles.”
