The news is sobering these days. There isn’t much good news as more of it saddens and is concerning.
Each of us has an opinion, and we seem to think our opinion is the right one, therefore, everyone should agree with us. It can get overwhelming to realize the level of discord all around us.
Our hope and trust remains in God alone. God has always been faithful to His own and will continue to be.
“God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.” (Psalm 46:5, NASB)
The news and headlines can stream all day long if we want to turn it on. But I am not sure we will find much wisdom there. The one thing I am sure of is this – God is within me. He resides in me, and He alone will guide me wisely through the Holy Spirit.
In these unstable and constantly shifting days, there are a few things we can do:
- Pray. Each day we can pray, asking God for wisdom. He will lead us through each day and help us to navigate any, and all, challenges.
- Trust God. God remains sovereign over our world. There will never be a day in which He vacates His throne. He rules over all events in this world. With God, there is no “breaking news”.
- Be an encourager. We do not have to feed into any division, hurt, or bitterness. We can be agents of reconciliation, unity, and encouragement to those around us.
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5, NASB)
Pray,
trust God with each day,
for He is in our midst.
