Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … Inspire.

Inspire. My Bible dictionary defines this as to influence, move, or guide by divine influence.

With the definition before me for quite some time now, one thought comes to mind – My desire is that my life would be inspired by Him. All that I do. All that I say. All that I am.

I want to live my life, inspired by, influenced each day and guided by God’s Word and His Holy Spirit.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
(2 Timothy 3:16-17, NLT)

Scripture is inspired by God. It is His God breathed word for us and to us. He worked in men to record His thoughts for us so all we need to know has been preserved for all people for all time.

His inspired Word will inspire us each day.

All Scripture is useful to us as our guide and our teacher in life. It is the means by which God prepares us, molds us, and equips us for each day.

Each day we can be guided by Scripture, inspired in our reactions and responses, so that our lives will point others to Him. His influence in our lives will cause others to recognize a difference in us. We will stand apart, distinct, as people who live counter-culturally for our lives will be inspired by Him.

“The Scripture of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are the only sufficient, certain and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.” (James Boyce, as quoted in Key Word Commentary by Mark Water,  page 1149)

His Word = Inspiration for life.
