Grumpiness. It kind of creeps up on you. It stems from the disappointment that things aren’t any different or better.
And then it brings the problem of what to do with it. How do you get passed it when it just kind of lingers or hangs over you.
It’s on those days that you keep moving forward, onward, one step at a time with Jesus. It’s in the knowing that with each step forward, Jesus is right there with you. He never leaves you alone.
You can dump all the grumpy thoughts, the hurt, the disappointment at His throne for He not only hears, He won’t repeat it to a soul. Our thoughts and feelings are safe with Him.
Having expressed my grumpy feelings to a friend, who of course, wisely recommended praying about it, I did a quick scroll through social media. And just like that, the Lord shows up in a box with a word.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14, HCSB)
That’s right – wait for the Lord.
Stay in the posture of expectation. Expect Him to show up, to bring encouragement, hope, and cheer through His Word.
Expect Him to fill you with all that is needed. Expect Him to keep you steadfast and abiding in Him.
As we wait in expectation, much like the psalmist, we will also say:
“I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13, HCSB)
There is a sacred tension which exists in life between hard and easy things; pain and pleasure; losses and gains. In her post, Holding Joy and Grief Together HERE, Lisa reminds us “Together we can acknowledge that alongside our hardships, joy is here, too.”
Come, sit a spell. Bring your coffee, your posts, and your thoughts. If you link up, kindly visit those who have drawn up a seat around you.

I’m thankful we can turn our eyes to Him, pour out our feelings, and trust Him with them. And then rest and trust Him to work things out in His best time and way.
Yep, God shows up wherever He pleases … even on social media! He won’t be kept in a sacred box on a dusty shelf.
Thank You Lord for pursuing us. We love You so.
I love when God speaks to us in the most unexpected ways & places Joanne.
Blessings, Jennifer
