Some Fridays I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is: Dedicated.

Dedicated – “devoted to a cause, ideal, or purpose; given over to a particular purpose” (from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary).

Dedication begins in the heart, each heart, our own hearts. Our hearts need to be dedicated to the Lord. They need to be fixed upon the Lord. He must rule and reign in our lives. We each must determine to walk with integrity always and have hearts that serve God alone.

Our hearts need to be dedicated to His purposes and will.

In order to have a heart dedicated to the Lord, to what must I be devoted?

  • Unity. “These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.” (Acts 1:14, NASB)
  • Prayer. “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2, NASB)
  • Others. “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.” (Romans 12:10, NASB)

Let’s tend to our hearts,
staying dedicated to
unity, prayer, and others.

Today I may be joining:  Five Minute Friday .
