Today is the “official” start of the new school year for our family. Both of my children returned last week to their positions at the school where they are employed in order to prepare for today. It is a school year of adventure or transition:
- added hours and responsibilities
- changes in roles for many
- Sophia going to school full time now
There are many at the school who have become our friends or maybe even a part of our family. Not quite sure how that happened but I am pretty sure it has to do with being loving and investing into the lives of others!
So it did not surprise me when I found myself praying for this school year…..
For those in administration….may our God keep the eyes of your heart open to discern His will and directions. For it is when the eyes of our heart are opened that we are able to receive the wisdom and the revelation to know Him better.
For each teacher….may our God give you a deep love for each of your students. Let’s face it – some are just easier to love than others. May He give you an endless supply of patience and stamina.
For each student….may our God bless your minds with understanding of all that you will be taught. May He give you the aptitude for every kind of learning. Above all, may He give you a heart tendered towards Him.
For every other position….may our God cause you to realize that nothing you do is in vain or goes unnoticed by Him. May He cause you to realize that it all matters and truly makes a difference each day!
May you all remember where to look for your help:
I look up to the mountains””
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth!He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.(Psalm 121, NLT)
May the school year – 2013/14 -Â be full of the fulness of all that He has for each and every one of you!
Today I am linked with…. Soli Deo Gloria and Unite and True Stories and Teach Me Tues. and Momma Notes and Titus 2 Tues. and Titus 2sdays .
Love these prayers. I also take time to pray for everyone involved in my boys’ school days, and I am so grateful for their loving work.
Prayer makes a difference in the lives of teachers & thus makes a difference in the lives of the kids. Keep praying! And thanks for stopping here & sharing!
School begins again for many, and for us we too are ever learning and growing in grace. Thank you for sharing here at “Tell Me a Story.” Hazel and Robert
Yes, we are each ever learning & ever growing. Thank you for sharing that thought!
They can certainly use our thoughts and prayers; what a blessing that my grandson has a talented and caring teacher. Our schools and teachers have such an impact on our children! God bless them! 🙂
Blessings and love!

Teachers make a huge impact on the lives of children. Their influence can be felt for years. May we each be faithful to pray. Thank you for stopping here & sharing today!
So good to pray for all of those involved in our schools — each person can make an impact on our kids.
It truly is. May we be faithful to not only start the year in prayer but to remember to pray throughout the school year. Thank you for stopping here today!
What a great prayer! And I very much need to be reminded of Psalm 121 today. Thank you for sharing!
