“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 20:24, NLT)
“Joy comes from seeing the complete fulfillment of the specific purpose for which I was created and born again, not from successfully doing something of my own choosing. ”
(from My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers)
Today I am joining … Give Me Grace and Spiritual Sundays and Word of God Speak and Scripture & A Snapshot .
Thank you for sharing from Oswald Chambers. Joy is not our own doing but God’s when we align our plans with His. We become joyful when we have finished what God has carefully crafted for us. Sabbath blessings!
So very true. Oswald Chambers continues to offer me such wisdom & insight.
If I may ask, how is your dad doing? May you have a blessed Palm Sunday.
What a call to my heart to finish well! I don’t want to get side-tracked onto some other path than what God has planned! Thanks for this dose of Sunday wisdom!
Michele, good word – side tracked. It brings to mind the image of a derailment which ends up going, no where. You always bring something good with your comments! Blessings!
Joanne, my heart agrees.
There are days when I just want to get out of here[ this life] but I always end up saying to God…BUT I don’t want to come until everything on my job-sheet is done !
I yield to Him and pray often that ALL of His plans and purposes for my life WILL BE FULFILLED…which is exactly what your graphic says.
Love it.
God BLESS you.
Mary Gemmill, may you know that as long as you are drawing breath, our God yet has purpose for your life. And you, are such an encouragement to many of us. Every day. May He bless you this Palm Sunday weekend! xo
The Words and the picture were heart-grabbers for me. Thank you so much. Glad we’re both “Joanne”. Makes me smile. Bless you!
I so agree with you – each time I see your name in my inbox, I smile. Not many “Joanne’s” out there AND who spell it the same as we do. God knew 🙂
