If I were asked to define “eat”, I would suggest it is to ingest or take in, chew, and then swallow.

We eat for any number of reasons ”“ out of hunger, boredom, experimenting with a recipe, or for comfort. All may satisfy at the moment but then, in a short time, we must eat again. The food must be prepared and the table set, repeatedly.

Upon creating man, God placed them in the middle of a garden with trees and vegetation to fill their need to eat, and then instructed them:

The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17, NASB)

From the beginning, God provided all that was needed for us to be satisfied. He gave it freely, and it was in abundance. It provided life, health, and wholeness. God built obedience into our relationship from the beginning.

In Isaiah 55, God offers this invitation:

You there! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat.” (Isaiah 55:1, NASB)

We are shaped by the Word of God as we partake of it each day. Come join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE as we look at what God offers to us through His Word.
