Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Have.

We have three granddaughters whom we deeply love. They have been placed in this world, at this time, by the divine wisdom and foreknowledge of our God.

But, if I am perfectly honest, some days the thought is overwhelming to me as I watch the events of this world unfold.

Every day there are reports which are alarming – countries at war, threats of coming wars, violence in our streets and schools, inflation, hatred, political unrest, and hearts grown cold.

It would all overtake me apart from reading Scripture which reminds me:

“Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world. Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. (Psalm 90:1-3, NASB)

There is the assurance and confidence I have, and they also have. We have God as our dwelling place. He is our shelter and our refuge. He offers hope to us when our hearts have momentarily forgotten He is faithful to every generation, even from everlasting to everlasting.

We have His throne to which we can bring every worry, every concern, every need, and every loved one.  We have Him.

“You have been my dwelling place”
and they will have You as their dwelling place,
“even from everlasting to everlasting.”
