Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Teach.

Teach has been defined as the act of imparting knowledge or skill through instruction.

In looking at the definition, I thought …  in order for one to teach, one must have someone willing to learn.

And so this morning I pray for God to teach:

  • “Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground” (Psalm 143:10, NASB).
  • “Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths” (Psalm 25:4, NASB).
  • “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples” (Luke 11:1, NASB).
  • I pray over my mouth and the words I will speak and write, “for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say” (Luke 12:12, NASB).
  • May I rely and depend on the Holy Spirit for He will teach me each day, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you” (John 14:26, NASB).

And I pray I would be willing to learn, for only as I learn will I find the rest my soul needs.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.”

(Matthew 11:28-29, NASB)
