Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is ā€¦ Fly.

The days fly by and the years pass more quickly than we would expect. As a mom, I determined to enjoy and make the most of the days I had with my own two children.

And yet the time still flew by, they quickly became adults.

Then came the days of watching my grandchildren while their parents worked and again, I determined to enjoy my days even more so, for now I surely knew how quickly the days would fly by.

“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12, NLT)

In His love for us, God shows us how valuable our days are here on earth. We are not to waste the time, but make the most of each day. We live each day investing in the future, in eternity.

Scripture also tells us …

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1, NLT)

We learn to number our days so that we grow in wisdom. In wisdom we learn there are days set aside in which we pursue certain activities because the window of opportunity is a small one and will fly by.

And so yesterday, I wisely chose to go on Jocelyn’s “Fun Day” at school – the class celebration of kindergarten graduation.

The days are long and the years short.
They fly by!
