We closed the month of October and this 31 Day Challenge in Settle My Soul with these thoughts …

~*~*~

“My victory and my honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.” (Psalm 62:7, NLT)

The author makes this simple statement:
“Home shaping is significant business.” (page 139)

I have often felt that a woman sets the tone in her home. When I am grouchy and irritable, it affects everyone. On the flip side, when my family has come home after a rough day, my cheerfulness can brighten them up.

Do you all agree or disagree?

What can we do to help others shape their home, their families, and their faith?

“Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.” (Psalm 4:1, NLT)

We are busier than ever. Our to-do lists get longer and longer, the demands seem never ending.

But is this a good reason to put our time with God on the back burner?

God is wanting us to make time with Him a priority. He is never too busy to hear our prayers and speak to our hearts. He longs for us to to connect with Him each day.

In my own life, I know that I need to get better at responding immediately. Too many times, I wait until I finish what I am doing and then respond. I want to respond quicker, whether I am done with the task at hand or not.

Do you make it a priority to answer Him when you sense Him calling you to set aside things and connect with Him? How can you improve in this area?

~*~*~

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families.” (Psalm 68:5-6)

Holidays can be a joyful time and yet for many, they can be difficult and painful.

It seems like the perfect time for us to begin thinking about holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s will soon all come rushing in.

“Holidays are an excuse for making someone’s life better … People are waiting to be encouraged and included …” (from page 148)

We can use this time before the upcoming holidays to come up with ways to brighten up this time of year for others.

Dear Lord, use this time leading up to the coming holidays to give us creative ideas on how we can bless others. Help each of us to make someone else’s life less lonely. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

As we make time with God a priority,
we wisely shape our homes and
are able to bless the lives of others.
