Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is ā¦ Replace.
Replace … “to provide a substitute or equivalent in the place of” (dictionary.com).
Upon seeing the word, I immediately thought of the two things we want to replace soon – our coffee pot and our mattress.
There are times we need to replace items due to lack of functionality or malfunction. We can easily go to the needed store and make a new purchase.
The windows are open and it is raining hard. The sound and the smell fill my senses with a beauty so appreciated.
My morning reading is completed and brought the reminder of Jesus, The Bread of Life. No one can touch my heart like He does.
The thought comes quickly –
There is none who could replace Him.
“There is none like You, O Lord; You are great, and great is Your name in might.” (Jeremiah 10:6, NASB)
“There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.” (Psalm 86:8-10, NASB)
There is none who could replace Him.
There is none like You, Jesus.
And nothing that can replace/take the place of our morning time with Him! So many things are easily (or somewhat easily) replaced but remembering what has eternal value and need never be replaced makes them precious! Happy Friday to you!
I so agree. You expressed it well. Nothing can take the place of the beauty and preciousness of our morning time. And I find I truly cannot adequately express the amazement and fulfillment that comes each morning.
My belt sander chose to die
at what was a crappy time,

Andrew, you have written a powerful analogy. Nothing can replace doing the hard work. The results it yields are true – both with wood and in our lives. May we always do the hard work it brings the greatest satisfaction and all the glory goes to Him!
No one can replace our Lord and Savior. When we recognize He is first in our lives and He is the only way to salvation, we put our trust completely in Him. No one else can bring us His gift of light and love. Thank you for this inspiring message.

Oh praise God, nothing and no one can replace our relationship with Jesus. Where would we be, who would we be without His compassionate loving kindness toward us!
I have no idea where I would be as I would truly be so lost. So grateful for His hand and His Word upon me each day.

Nothing can replace Him and yet, sometimes without realizing it, functionally we do. We run to so many other things for comfort, help, and escape. May we never forget that He is God and there is no other.

I haven’t heard it for a while.
We actually saw Lenny LeBlanc a week ago in Alabama. It was a concert of all Eagles’ songs from various musicians and he was one of the highlights. I can’t believe he’s 72 years old now. I’ve been listening to him for a lot of years. š
We finally replaced our mattress this year and have loved it (although it was a struggle getting there, ha).
We are still in the middle of the struggle of a getting a new mattress š That is so funny that you just saw Lenny LeBlanc. Yes, we have been listening to him a lot of years!
