In her book, 45 Days of Prayer, Lindsey Renee raises the question:
“How would things change if we gathered to pray for specific topics at the same time?”
There are times in our lives we all need guided and concentrated prayer, and this book guides us in so doing. We often make prayer so complicated we forget the power of prayer. And yet, prayer is most necessary in all of our lives on a daily basis.
The author explains:
“Prayer is the act of talking to God. It allows us to come before our Father, anytime and anywhere … We pray not because we have it all together and offer up perfect prayers but because we are in need of His help. You see, prayer is our lifeline.”
The book will lead one to pray through five areas:
- Praying for the Year, Missions, & Leadership
- Praying for your Family
- Friendship & Community
- Focusing Inward
- Prayers of Praise & Thanksgiving
Each day includes a focus thought, Scriptures, and a prayer. The readings are short and to the point. The page opposite provides space to journal personal thoughts and prayers.
This is a wonderful resource to be shared with a friend, a group, and individually as it will infuse faith along with bringing focus each day. As I came to the close of the book, I found myself wanting to begin again as Lindsey encouraged us to pray for a heart that yearns after Jesus and to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
**I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review. This was a new to me author and it was a joy to have discovered her and this book.

I like the line “prayer is our lifeline.” So true. God has been reminding me of the importance of prayer in the last few weeks. Thanks for the review. It looks like a helpful resource to cover many areas. Have a great day!
Kelly, I think what I most enjoyed about the book is that it kept my prayers both focused and yet broad.
This does sound like a great resource, Joanne. I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from being more focused in their prayer life.
Sometimes all we need, Michele, is a simple little resource to breathe fresh perspective into our prayers. This was the breathe of fresh perspective for me recently.
